About DAMA
DAMA New York and DAMA International

DAMA-NY was founded in 1986 as a not-for-profit organization. It is the oldest DAMA chapter in the Tri-state region and is one of the oldest data management professional organizations as well.

DAMA is solely supported by its membership and has no product or vendor affiliations. The DAMA New York Chapter serves professionals in the private, public and academic sectors of the NY Tri-State area.

DAMA-NY Newsletter

DAMA-NY publishes a newsletter in tandem with the regularly scheduled general sessions. The newsletter features overviews of upcoming sessions, updates on future events, review of past events, reports on the activities of DAMA International, and other topics of interest.

DAMA-NY Membership Privileges

DAMA-NY offers corporate and individual memberships. The annual membership fee entitles DAMA-NY members to attend all general sessions as well as receive the newsletter free of charge. In addition, reduced fees are offered for DAMA-NY informational Technology Day, DAMA-NY special events and industry related conferences, fairs, seminars and publications. [Join DAMA-NY]

The Data Administration Management Association of New York, DAMA-NY, explores the role of information management in today’s competitive global market place. DAMA-NY events bring together the best and the brightest to present and discuss the new strategies which are changing the way business is done in the information age.

DAMA-NY is the organization for business executives with information needs, for information managers who must be aware of emerging management techniques, and for information management professionals who wish to acquire the latest skills.

DAMA-NY pursues four principal goals:

1. Promotion of information management as a tool within the context of an overall business environment.
2. Presentation of new trends and techniques to keep members abreast of new developments in the field.
3. Continuing professional development to ensure that our professionals are well informed and well educated.
4. Creation of networking opportunities for the membership throughout the New York metropolitan area and the international community of information professionals via DAMA-International Internet access.

Information Technology Day

Held usually once a year, Information Technology Day is an event with a single theme of emerging importance to information managers, and information professionals.
