DAMA NYC June 2026 Newsletter

It is June and thats a sign that Summer will soon be here.  I am so excited to say that last month we completed our Master Class on May 6th and DAMA Day on May 7th.  All signs indicate that it was our biggest successful events ever. We had 103 people registered for the DAMA Day event. We wish to thank all the speakers, Sponsors, the Bank of China CDO office and most of all our members for their support.

Please register for our next meeting schedule for June 18th. It will be a Zoom meeting and our speaker will be Aakriti Agrawal who is from the DAMA Arizona Chapter. The start time will be 10am EST due to the time zone difference. We hope you will enjoy your Summer Vacation and look forward seeing you back on Sept 17th for our On-site meeting.

6 Ways that Your Change is Sinking (and how to stay afloat)

Presentation Abstract:
|Change is constant — but leading it well is anything but easy. In this session, author and change management expert Aakriti Agrawal shares how to navigate the emotional, cultural and behavioral shifts that come with change. Drawing from her book “Data Governance Change Management” and her ANCHOR model framework, Aakriti reveals practical techniques to reduce fear, build trust, and foster sustainable change. Whether you’re leading a data governance initiative, a new process rollout, or a culture shift, you’ll leave with actionable tools to help your people not just survive change — but thrive through it.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the ANCHOR model and its core principles for leading successful, people-centered change.
2. Identify six of the most common pitfalls that derail change efforts – and recognize early warning signs in their own organizations.
3. Apply practical strategies from the ANCHOR model to build trust, reduce resistance, and sustain momentum during transformation.
